An example of the InShot interface
Official screen example from InShotSource: official material ↗

What it can do

  • Tools cover trimming, joining, aspect-ratio changes, speed adjustment, and transitions.
  • Features include text, music, recording, picture-in-picture, and automatic captions. Picture-in-picture places one video over another.
  • The app is free to download, with ads and in-app purchases. Check the purchase screen for logo removal and paid-feature conditions.

Your first editing workflow

  1. Import videos or photos and arrange them in the order you want to show.
  2. For a vertical video, set the canvas to 9:16, position the subject so it is not cropped unintentionally, and trim unwanted footage.
  3. Add short, readable text and licensed audio. Check how long each caption remains visible.
  4. Check logos, audio levels, and asset-purchase requirements. Export and watch the result at its intended screen size.

Try this: a small editing project

Make a fifteen-second introduction to one object: a wide view, a detail, and another wide view. Limit the explanation to one line per shot.

Before you start

Check ads or logos in the free version and the payment requirements of selected assets and features. Leave room around captions for the publishing platform's buttons and description.

Free & paid conditions

Free download with ads and in-app purchases. Monthly, annual, and one-time purchase options and prices should be checked on the purchase screen for your device and region. [1] [2]

Footage & music licensing

Built-in materials carry their rights holders' licenses. Official terms restrict the AI Music album to personal use. A Pro subscription does not grant commercial rights to every music track. [3]
