• Prepare all four clips in vertical 9:16, using the same mug, color palette, and time of day. Use a shared reference image if the model supports one.
  • Name the files 01_hook.mp4, 02_detail.mp4, 03_feeling.mp4, and 04_ending.mp4, and save them so their order is clear.
  • Choose a common frame rate. For example, if the footage is 30 fps, use 30 fps as the basis for editing and export too.
  • Prepare a script with short lines and background music licensed for your intended social platform and use.
Example timeline structure

An example with four 15-second clips. After removing unwanted sections, the finished video will be around 45–60 seconds.

01

Import the four clips

In CapCut's New project, select the four clips and tap Add to import them. Press and hold clips on the timeline to arrange them in the order 01 → 02 → 03 → 04.

Start by checking that the numbered assets and timeline follow the same order.

02

Set up a vertical 9:16 frame

Choose 9:16 under Aspect ratio or a similar option, then adjust size and position in the preview. Compose the frame so the mug or person is not cropped too much.

Check each clip's position and keep the important subject in roughly the same area.

03

Cut unnecessary pauses and unnatural sections

Drag the ends of each clip to shorten its beginning and ending. For a failed section in the middle, position the playhead, use Split, and remove the unwanted interval. Watch to the end to check the story order and finished length.

If the app has added an unwanted clip at the end, reconsider whether to include it in your work.

04

Create continuity between shots

First play the edit without transition effects. Try short transitions only at boundaries that need them, checking that the mug's direction or movement does not jump suddenly.

The duration of an effect can change the timeline's total length.

05

Add narration and background music

Add short narration using recording or an audio file. Add background music separately and lower it so the voice is easy to hear. Include audio from generated clips when checking for unwanted sounds and abrupt volume differences.

Check that the voice is audible through both headphones and the phone's speaker.

06

Add captions and the closing message

After adding audio, choose a language in the automatic captions feature under Captions and review the recognition results. Correct spelling, timing, and line count, then use the text feature to add the closing message.

Automatic captions recognize speech. For silent footage, enter text yourself.

07

Export at 1080p and check the result

Use the export control at the top to save a vertical 1080p video at a frame rate matching the footage. Play the saved video and check the opening, joins, audio, captions, and final second.

Also check how the exported file looks in the actual posting interface.

Check the result

  • The topic is clear in the first one or two seconds.
  • No distorted frames or unnatural movement remain.
  • The mug, color palette, and brightness do not change drastically between shots.
  • The voice is intelligible, with no abrupt changes in music or ambient sound.
  • Captions and the final message are not hidden by the posting interface.
  • You have played the exported video from beginning to end and checked its finished length.

Common difficulties

The generated clips do not have a consistent look

Return to the shared reference image or color instructions and regenerate shots with large differences. Make the source assets consistent before correcting them in the edit.

Four clips do not add up to 60 seconds

Trimming and transitions change the length. If you need exactly 60 seconds, calculate the portions used from each clip and the overlap of transitions, then adjust the total length at the end.

The caption feature or its name differs from the article

Check the app version, operating system, region, and plan, and consult the official help. You can continue with manually entered text even when automatic captions are unavailable.
