An example of the Luma AI interface

What it can do

  • Generate video from text or images. Begin by treating one scene as a short shot.
  • Controls include start/end images and transformation of existing footage. Check available input modes for your selected model.
  • The official interface guide describes choosing a model, input, duration, and aspect ratio before generation.

Make your first video

  1. In Dream Machine's video-creation panel, check the models and plans available to you.
  2. Describe a scene briefly or provide a starting image you have permission to use.
  3. Select a supported duration and aspect ratio, check the credit cost, and generate.
  4. Inspect composition, subject shape, and movement. Compare one prompt change at a time, then confirm usage terms before saving.

Try this: a small practice project

Use your own landscape photo to make a slow camera-movement shot. Compare it with the original and look for unintended changes to buildings or terrain.

Practice prompt (English)
A quiet coastal town at sunrise. The camera slowly pans to the right. Soft golden light, gentle sea movement, a single continuous shot.

Before you start

The pricing FAQ we consulted was updated in January 2026. We could not verify today's checkout, so its figures are not presented as confirmed current prices. Check web and app subscription conditions separately.

Pricing

Free plan & trial conditions
The official FAQ describes a limited Free plan. Check the official interface for current quotas, models, and waiting times.

Prices and allowances can change. The amount and conditions shown at checkout take precedence.

Commercial use & watermarks

Official licensing guidance lists Free and Lite as non-commercial with watermarks. Content generated on Plus or above is commercial-use eligible without watermarks. A later upgrade does not make earlier Free/Lite content commercial-use eligible. [2] [3]

These introductory guides are based on official websites, pricing pages, and help documentation. They do not rank performance or report hands-on generation tests. Practice tasks are our own editorial suggestions. Check current plans, features, and regional availability before subscribing.
